Happy Friday!  We had another great visit at Mala Strana!  When the kids have read to one resident, they just keep finding new ones to read to! 

 We also hit 5,000 IXL problems! 

And finally, it's always nice to watch a good Snoopy Thanksgiving video for Fun Friday after a hard week at work!

Our school put on an awesome Veterans Day celebration today!  We enjoyed hearing a small but amazing group of HS kids play their instruments, we were awestruck by the color guard and we even had a few of our own Veterans join us!  Always hard to think of what some of those Veterans have been through.  Thanks to all who have served!

What a great time we had reading to the residents at Mala Strana today!  The residents LOVE LOVE  LOVE  it and I think the kids may have loved it even more!  This is the 29th year our students have been reading there.  It is wonderful!

Toby was our 1st Star of the Week!  I think he was amazed at all the responsibilities that went with "the crown."  :)

Some pics from our Staff Development Day on Friday. I attended one session on technology...just need time to figure out how we can apply it toward 1st graders now.  My next session was a speaker sharing about drive and motivation for adults and kids by recognition, not rewards.  LOVED that.  Bought 3 new books to read more about that. The next session was working with all 1st grade teachers on Science standards and the last was just with the FR 1st grade team working on I Can statements.  To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to a day of meetings but I was happily surprised!

We will need to send the troops a lot of toothbrushes to follow all the candy FR kids sent to them!!

We had to have a dance to the "Celebration" song this week as we had a day of everyone completing their jobs and homework!

We worked with Mr. Wilson's kids to make cards for Veteran's Day!
