Great day for friends and CANDY!!!
Great day for Red and Black! Nice to see some of Mackenzie's family! And the queen is one of my 1st graders!

We had a lot of fun for NP Homecoming week! Growing up in this community, it still brings back many memories of fun times being with NP kids and families. Our lockers look pretty High School-ish.

We finally met our Buddy Class kids from Mrs. Berkebile's class!  Tyson and Lauren are brother and sister!  We hope to visit a lot more with them!

Our bin for Braden.   Wow...what an amazing bunch of families that are so caring.  If your family wasn't able to share at this time, well wishes, thoughts and prayers are always welcome!  :)
We are having fun playing some Math activities!

Braden's family stopped by last week to check on our Kolackies!  I think the G'mas were spying on my recipe...NOT!!  They actually helped in Braden's brother Cole's classroom!  Mom, aunt, G ma and Gr grandma! FUN to see all the generations!
Proud Mom!  Hope it's ok to share... Just thought I'd share a pic from family weekend at Luther College in Iowa!  Tux with tails for his 2 song concert!  He was the best one! ;)
(Maybe because he was the only one I watched!) Good to see his face again!

Fun times celebrating Dozinky festival!  Bus driver Tim played some polkas for us!

I'm glad we practiced using the mini tramp because the kids are using it so well and are loving it!  It's nice to have movement any time we can!
We've been adding new jobs into our daily schedule!   Spelling practice,  group work and Handwriting!  Look at those little Handwriting soldiers!  :)

We've been learning how to be a successful listener!  Howard B. Wigglebottom can do it!  (Great story!)  Then we each shared how we can be quality listeners too!

Yup!  We sent away a little girl butterfly today!  It was so fun to watch the kids when we released her!  She is headed toward Mexico, though it will take 5 generations of butterflies to actually get there!
We started our 1st of four NWEA assessments this morning!  Great concentration!
District Nurse Cheryl Malecha and FR nurse Amie Wollin shared a book with us today about the importance of really keeping the germs down in our room.  They think with all the extra hand washing lessons and hand sanitizer in our room we will really stay healthy this year!  Hope so!  (Though I do hear allergy sniffles a lot!)

Ask your child how a mini tramp and flashcards go together in a 1st grade classroom.  Research shows that doing brain work while exercising increases retention!  And...it's kinda fun too!  :)
This is what it's all about!!!!
Aidan's face says it all!

What????? A full popcorn box on the second week of school!  Weeeeeee-whooooo!
Happy Birthday to Hannah!  Hope you enjoy your b-day pancakes tonight!
Today we practiced one of our Daily 5 activities...reading with a buddy.  We practice this together a lot so we are pros when we do it on our own!
This morning we practiced bus evacuations.  Bus driver Paul explained how to safely exit the back of the bus if needed.

In remembrance of so many, we read this book that very lightly talked about what happened 12 years ago in the United States. We touched a lot on people accepting others that are not like them and always treating people with respect.

We are working on building stamina for Reading quietly on our own!  We find a lot of comfy spots around the room!

Today we kicked off our school fundraiser!  We hope we can earn a lot of money to support Falcon Ridge!  Be safe when you sell!
